Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Staten Island follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A beautiful park β we were lucky to visit it during a Polish festival, which made the experience even more special. We were able to enjoy both the park itself and the festive atmosphere at the same time. Overall, it was a wonderful visit, and we really enjoyed our time there.

If you are visiting New York City, you can take the FREE ferry ride to Staten Island and visit thus beautiful park and botanical garden. I was impressed with the flowers they planted everywhere and on the road sides in this park. Unfortunately, the Green House was not open when I was there. If you go, Don't forget the Chinese Scholars Garden. The park is free; but It will cost you $5.00 admission fee to enter the Scholars Garden. Sometimes the locals will just come here and lay down on the grass for an afternoon. You will see many families with their kids here. Staten Island Children's Museum is also located at this park. If you have kids, you will love it here. There are also many buildings and cultural activities in this park. It just happened there was a free art gallery event when I was there. I enjoyed my walk and viewing the art exhibition. There are 4-5 parking areas in the park. All of them are very small and are usually full. But if you wait a little, there are always people leaving the lot, then you will get a parking space. I saw a few cars just creating their own parking area along the road side. None of them got a ticket. (see one of my pictures).

I recently visited Snug Harbor Garden, and it was such a beautiful experience. With 15 unique gardens to explore, there's plenty to see and enjoy. The grounds are peaceful and well-maintained, with benches throughout where you can sit, relax, and take in the scenery. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing place to spend a few hours, I highly recommend visiting. Parking is available as well.

This is such a wonderful and calm place. I came with my family on a weekday and we had a pleasant time walking around the center. My favorite place was the Tuscan garden π that was a wonderful spot to rest and take pictures. Even though the place is beautiful I must note the facility and gardens could benefit from more care, for example the rose garden that is close to the entrance. There is an Asian garden but you have to pay a $5 fee to enter. This time we skip it so I can't give a review about it. The museum also charges a fee. But you don't have to pay to access the place in itself unless there charge parking, which I don't know cuz we arrived by bus which was fast and very convenient π There is a small restaurant in the facilities so can have a snack and drinks. I highly recommend this place for everyone! ππΉ

What a surprise this was! We decided to take the Staten Island Ferry from Battery Park just for the experience when I decided to do a quick search of things to do in Staten Island. Snug Harbor showed up. We took the bus to the first stop - North gate and entered there. We stopped at the Staten Island Museum and did a quick visit - their main historical exhibit was under renovation. We then walked to the Gazebo lawn and pond and then tried with some difficulty to find the NY Scholarβs Garden (we got the map in the photo AFTER we struggled to locate it). There was a lot more to see than we had time for. Lots of beautiful gardens. They also have planned activities. Check their calendar before going. You could easily spend 2-4 hours here.
